Who has the record for most goals in a Premier League season? How close is Erling Haaland to breaking it?

Erling Haaland has spent his first year as a Manchester City player torpedoing any pre-season predictions that he would need time to adapt to the rigours of English football.

The Norwegian is enjoying the most prolific season of his career as he fires City’s bid for a Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup treble.

With an astonishing return of 32 goals from 28 Premier League games to his name already, Haaland is closing in fast on the division’s single-season scoring record.
