Who is Aidan Maese-Czeropski? Ex-Senate staffer allegedly filmed having sex in Congress

The former Senate staffer accused of being filmed having sex in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing room is an environmentalist who has been climbing the ranks of the Democratic Party since he was a teenager and has a history of posting risque comments on social media.

Aidan Maese-Czeropski, 24, was fired from retiring-Sen. Ben Cardin’s office over the weekend following reports which identified him as one of the men filmed having public sex in a committee room leaked from a private Whatsapp group to The Daily Caller.

The allegations put an end to Maese-Czeropski’s two-year career in the Democratic senator’s office, with the 24-year-old just recently enjoying a new position as an aide to Cardin’s Foreign Policy, Tax and Trade team, according to his LinkedIn account.

Maese-Czeropski, a California native, had first joined Cardin’s office in October 2021 as a staff assistant.

He took the position following a six-month fellowship at Friends of the Earth, a UK-based, non-profit organization focused on environmental research and activism.

Maese-Czeropski’s face allegedly appeared to be visible in an explicit video filmed in a Senate hearing room.

Maese-Czeropski has a Bachelors of Science in Society & Environment, having attended the University of California, Berkeley’s College of Natural Resources. He also studied Global Environmental Change and Sustainability at The Johns Hopkins University.

He appeared to always have an interest in politics, having served as an intern in the late-Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office during the summer of 2018.

Prior to that, he served as the news editor for the Palo Alto High School’s Paly Voice newspaper, where he wrote an editorial in 2016 calling on voters to elect Hillary Clinton.

After graduating from Berkeley in 2020, Maese-Czeropski served as a field organizer for the Democratic Party of Virginia, campaigning for Biden in Loudoun County.

He also worked on the statewide Latino outreach program, “Todos con Biden,” to help register thousands of spanish-speaking voters.

During his time as a field organizer, Maese-Czeropski also appeared in a 2020 campaign video with then-candidate Joe Biden.

Unbeknownst to Biden, the young Democrat he had posed alongside has a tendency to make salacious comments on his now-deleted Venmo account.

One post on March 5, 2020, read: “I want Joe Biden to spit in my mouth.”

Other posts around the time show payments with the memos claiming they were for “Strip dancers,” a “Pineapple shaped dildo,” and “sexual favors.”

The risque posts appeared to come to a head with the leak of the X-rated video which showed Maese-Czeropski having sex with another man in the same room where nominees to the Supreme Court are grilled by senators and where former FBI boss James Comey once testified about alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, The Spectator reported on Friday.

“Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate. We will have no further comment on this personnel matter,” a Cardin spokeswoman told The Post following the news of the video.

The United States Capitol Police have since launched a probe into potential criminal violations after the video began circulating.

The staffer appears to have since deleted his X account.

Maese-Czeropski admitted that he showed “poor judgment,” but claimed in a social media post that he is being victimized over the video.

“I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace,” he wrote. “Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.”

The Post has been unable to reach Maese-Czeropski for comment.
