Whoopi Goldberg chastises Ted Cruz hecklers on ‘The View’: ‘You gotta go!’
“The View” descended into chaos Monday morning when climate protesters hijacked a live taping of the show, shouting over the top of an interview with Ted Cruz.
The daytime program’s panelists were partway through grilling the Texas senator on the upcoming midterms when several women in the audience began chanting: “Cover climate now!”
Cruz continued to talk over the top of the chants before one of the women purportedly yelled out: “F–k you Ted Cruz!”
The profanity prompted moderator Whoopi Goldberg to fire back before the show quickly cut to commercial.
“Ladies, ladies! Excuse us! Let us do our jobs,” Goldberg blasted back. “We hear what you have to say, but you gotta go! You gotta go, you gotta let us do our job.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin also interjected, yelling back at the protesters: “We do cover climate!”
The show immediately went to commercial, and its believed the protesters were escorted out of the studio during the break.
After returning from commercial, co-host Ana Navarro offered up an apology to Cruz, stating: “I’ve been very vocal and critical of you, but I’m sorry that this has happened in our house.”
The Post has reached out to ABC for comment on the on-air pandemonium.
Before and after the protesters hijacked the show, “The View” cohosts grilled Cruz over his the January 6 riot at Capitol.
