Why Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton have separate NYE 2023 plans
Looks like they can be happy anywhere.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are ringing in the new year separately due to their busy work schedules.
Stefani, 54, was originally planning to join Shelton, 47, in Nashville to watch him perform, but was offered her own Las Vegas gig last minute.
“Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” Stefani explained to “Access Hollywood.”
Even Stefani was surprised by her decision.
“Last year I did Vegas and I was like, ‘Remind me to never do Vegas again.’ [But] you sometimes want to … not be the host,” the singer laughed. “So I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it. If you’re gonna be working then I’m gonna be working.’ So I’m just gonna fly in and out. It’s gonna be awesome.”
Stefani added that she is “really looking forward” to entertaining her fans.
The Post reached out to Shelton for comment.
When asked about her 2024 goals, the three-time Grammy winner revealed that she wanted to “put out a record.”
Additionally, she wants to be more “consistent” with her self-care and “keep loving” in her relationship.
Stefani met Shelton when they were coaches on NBC’s “The Voice.” They began dating in 2015 after their respective divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert.
They got engaged in October 2020 after Shelton proposed to Stefani with a 6.9 carat solitaire diamond ring.
“@blakeshelton yes please! 💍🙏🏻 gx,” the No Doubt rocker wrote on Instagram alongside a pic of herself kissing Shelton after he popped the question.
A year later, they officially tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Oklahoma.
Despite being married for two years, the “Sweet Escape” singer still appears to be in the honeymoon phase.
“I didn’t see any of this coming with Blake. This was just a big old ‘What?’ It was an amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time,” the singer gushed to People earlier this year. “He’s changed my life … when I [started dating] Blake, that’s when I felt home, like, ‘Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy.”
