Why Paul Rudd starred in the music video of a fan he met at Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ Tour
It was a different kind of “Love Story.”
Superstar Paul Rudd made waves over the weekend with a surprise appearance in an indie music video — after a chance meeting with a fellow Taylor Swift fan.
In a TikTok video posted Sunday, singer-songwriter Claud Mintz revealed they’d met the “Ant-Man” actor by accident at a stop on Swift’s “Eras” tour — and decided to strike up a conversation.
“I like randomly met him in passing at the Taylor Swift concert,” explains Mintz, 24, who said that he saw the star at the VIP tent.
Mintz then explained that they went up to People’s one-time Sexiest Man Alive and revealed that they had named a track on his album “Supermodels” after him.
According to the singer, Rudd was super relaxed during the encounter.
“He was so nice about it…and he was like, ‘Send it to me! I’d love to hear your album,’ ” continued Mintz, adding that they were super impressed with the way the “I Love You, Man” actor simply gave away his email.
Mintz explained that they named the track after the actor “because it’s me like trying to envision myself as like this like cool, confident, and like the charismatic, lovable character that you play,” referring to Rudd.
According to the singer, Rudd later responded to the email, stating that he loved the album. The “Clueless” star then agreed to appear in the music video for one of the tracks entitled “A Good Thing.”
In the video, Rudd, 54, plays a down-on-his-luck mailman who delivers a package to Mintz from their girlfriend, while Rudd claims to only have a one-eyed ferret waiting for him at home.
The megastar-turned-mailman then makes an appearance dancing with Mintz in the street.
“He came for the whole entire day,” Mintz explained in their TikTok. “He stayed for like five hours, and we shot that whole scene and danced outside.”
“It was the best day of my life,” they added.
The Post reached out to Rudd and Mintz for comment.
Mintz’s followers expressed their enduring love for the actor.
“Paul Rudd doing wholesome side quests,” laughed one user.
“Paul Rudd continues to singlehandedly carry my faith in humanity on his shoulders,” worshipped a second person while adding she would check out the song.
“Glad to know Paul Rudd is as amazing as he seems in interviews,” gushed a third.
