Will Ferrell’s son raves over actor dad’s viral DJ set at USC
Will Ferrell went went viral recently after crashing his son’s college frat party and putting his DJ skills on display.
Now, the “Anchorman” actor’s son Magnus, 19, has dished on how his high-profile parent wound up bringing down the house at a University of Southern California rager.
“Me and my roommate, we both DJ,” Magnus, 19, revealed last week on the “Lightweights” podcast.
“And I was like, ‘hey, would you like to just come and DJ for us?’ And he was like, ‘yeah, sure,’” the younger Ferrell told host Joe Vulpis.
Much like his “Old School” character Frank the Tank, Ferrell, 56, sported headphones and a backward red USC cap while clapping along to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” at a Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity tailgate party earlier this month.
Magnus revealed the surprise visit happened during Parents Weekend — which made it even more special.
“It’s also the craziest one of the year because they kind of let everybody in, so security’s pretty loose, and we have a second deck,” he said of having more space to party.
“And normally, you’re not allowed to go up there for, like, registered parties, but since it’s Parents Weekend, they open that up and it was packed shoulder to shoulder,” Magnus said of students and fans trying to catch a glimpse of the funnyman.
Vulpis asked Magnus if his dad knew what he was doing behind a DJ booth, to which the college student reluctantly replied with a laugh, “Sure, let’s just say that he does.”
