Will Smith reacts to Jada Pinkett Smith marriage bombshells

Will Smith has broken his silence about the bombshells dropped by his estranged wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, about their 25-year marriage.

The “Men in Black” star, 55, sent the New York Times an email saying the revelations “kind of woke [him] up,” adding that Pinkett Smith, 52, was more “resilient, clever and compassionate than [he’d] understood.”

“When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in,” Smith wrote, according to the Times article published Saturday. “And you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties.”

The Post reached out to Smith and Pinkett Smith for comment.

Smith’s remarks come mere days after Pinkett Smith sat down with Hoda Kotb, 59, and revealed that she and the “I Am Legend” star have been separated for seven years. She is promoting her memoir, “Worthy,” due out Tuesday.

“I think by the time we got to 2016 we were just exhausted with trying,” the “Girls Trip” actress said, referring to the state of their union. “I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever,” she continued. “And I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”

Pinkett Smith told People magazine that she and her “Fresh Prince” hubby have “been doing some really heavy-duty work together.”

“We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us,” she explained to the outlet, adding that the couple is “still figuring it out.”

Pinkett Smith also shared that she was “shocked” that the “Emancipation” star called her “wife” moments after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony last year.

“First of all, I’m really shocked, because mind you, I’m not there. We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time,” she told Kotb, adding that, “I’m really worried for Will because I don’t know what’s going on.”

Pinkett Smith said she refrained from going public with the couple’s relationship status because they were “not ready.”

They were “still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in partnership. … In regards to, how do we present that to people? We hadn’t figured that out,” she explained.

As their marriage continues to be laid bare, Pinkett Smith claims she and the “Summertime” singer won’t be divorcing anytime soon.
