Woman gets full-page ad in newspaper to shame ‘filthy cheater’ husband

This is an affair to remember.

A scorned wife has taken out a full-page advertisement in her local newspaper, publicly humiliating her husband for being a “dirty cheater.”

The woman, identified only as Jenny, expressed her rage in the August 12 edition of the Australian paper Mackay and Whitsunday Life.

“Dear Steve, I hope you’re happy with her,” the ad, which was published in large font and capital letters, read. “Now the whole town will know what a filthy cheater you are. From Jenny. P.S. I bought this ad using your credit card.”

The newspaper — which is read by more than 50,000 people in the tropical tourist region located adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef — was inundated with calls from nosy locals wanting further information on the small-town scandal.

Interest was so intense that the paper’s editors had to take to Facebook to inform the public that they would not be disclosing further details about Jenny — the woman who took out the ad.

They revealed that she booked the advertisement via their online portal, but didn’t disclose how much she attempted to pay for the stunt on her spouse’s credit card.

The editors eventually decided to run the ad for free, saying it was illegal to bill Steve’s account without his consent.

They added: “We do NOT know who Steve is, but apparently he’s been very, very bad.”

On Facebook, dozens of readers praised Jenny for humiliating her husband, with one woman writing: “Oh I wish I’d done that when my husband left me for another woman.”

“Hopefully it’s out of your system now. You go girl!” another admirer enthused.

However, not everyone was buying the stunt, with one skeptic saying it may have been concocted by employees at Mackay and Whitsunday Life.

“Good way of getting more likes and readers to your page,” they stated.
