Woman gives birth 48 hours after learning she’s pregnant

A Nebraska couple got a bundle of joy — and the shock of their lives.

Teacher Payton Stover, 23, gave birth just 48 hours after she found from doctors that she was pregnant with her first child, according to a local report.

Peyton Stover and her boyfriend Travis Koesters told KETV the baby was born 48 hours after they found out Stover was pregnant.

Stover, who is in her first year teaching, was oblivious she had a bun in the oven and thought job stress was tiring her out. Then her legs swelled, which led her to a doctor’s office, according to KETV.

“They ran the test again she said, ‘It’s definitely positive. We’re going to do an ultrasound,’” Stover recounted to the news station. “She looked right at the screen and said, ‘You’re definitely pregnant.’”

Doctors reportedly sprang into action to save her life and deliver the baby because Stover’s kidneys and liver were not functioning properly..

“They said she needs to be admitted and then she had the baby that night,” her boyfriend, Travis Koesters, told KETV.

“They’re like you’re having a baby in 15 minutes,” Stover added.

“I had severely high blood pressure which is very scary,” Stover went on to say. “If I wouldn’t have came in when I did I probably wouldn’t have made it through the weekend.”

An emergency C-section was performed and the baby boy, named Kash, was born 10 weeks premature and weighed just 4 pounds, according to KETV. It was later revealed Stover faced a case of preeclampsia, which is a pregnancy complication that leads to high blood pressure.
