Woman posing for selfie hit by oncoming train in Turkey
This selfie-taker was off the rails.
A woman posing for a selfie inches away from train tracks in Turkey was partially hit by a speeding train — and survived.
The woman was snapping pictures with a group of friends as a train raced by in the Belemedik Nature Park in the Pozanti district of Adana, Turkey, striking just her hand as it passed, CEN reported.
Footage of the near-miss emerged Tuesday showing the woman with a group of people mere inches from the tracks, holding their thumbs up as the train barrels through.
The group of women can be seen grinning with their thumbs up in the air before one member of the group’s hand is smacked by the oncoming train.
As the train speeds by, the woman pulls away in pain.
She can be seen nearly falling over in shock and agony before another member of the group approaches to check in on her.
The footage ends by showing the woman being comforted by pals as she inspects her injured hand.
Local media reported that after she was struck the woman was taken to the hospital by her friends.
She was released from the hospital after an examination and treatment.
Pozanti Mayor Mustafa Cay used the incident as a warning to tourists and selfie-takers to express greater caution.
