Women’s World Curling Championships: Norway seal playoff spot as Switzerland go unbeaten

Norway reached the playoffs of the Women’s World Curling Championships thanks to a nervy win over Italy.

Stefania Constantini missed a draw to the button with the final stone of the extra end to hand Marianne Rorvik’s rink a 6-5 victory.

A seventh win of the tournament saw Norway join Switzerland in the play-offs in Sandviken.

Elsewhere, Scotland once again fell foul of fine margins as they were edged out 7-6 by the Swiss.

Skip Silvana Tirinzoni collected a stunning 31st successive win at the World Curling Championships, an all-time record, making it 11 wins from 11 this week.

Rebecca Morrison and team sit 12th with three wins from 11 matches, ahead of only New Zealand who are winless.
