Ding Junhui – Hossein Vafaei

11:00-14:00

Welcome back to the Crucible

Morning one and all ahead of Day Two at the World Championship in Sheffield. Ronnie O’Sullivan was the first man through to the last 16 on Saturday night with a 10-7 win over Pang Junxu. The world champion is battling a bit of a virus, but did enough to stave off the threat of Pang, who closed to 9-7 from 9-4 behind before Rocket Ronnie produced a break of 80 to scramble over the line.

While he can rest up for a few days, we will find out who he will meet in the last 16 on Friday as Ding Junhui and Hossein Vafaei battle for the right to meet the world No. 1.

They have nine frames to play of their opening session this morning and we will be with them all before they conclude on Monday morning. On the other table, 2015 world champion Stuart Bingham leads David Gilbert 6-3 as they play to a finish. Difficult to think Gilbert led 3-1 at the mid-session of their first session, the ‘Ball-run’ whipping off five straight frames to assume control in his quest to progress. Should be a thrilling few hours.

In the afternoon games, Mark Williams gets going facing off against Jimmy Robertson whilst on the other table another Robertson, Neil continues 6-3 up against Wu Yize.
