World Snooker Championship 2023 LIVE: Jack Lisowski eyes victory before Judd Trump, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy

Jack Lisowski – Noppon Saengkham

10:59-13:59

Our main match

Jack played pretty well yesterday, and the problem for Noppon is how he beats someone who wants a similar game to him, but is better at it. The only way he can win, really, is by hitting a ridiculous streak, and over best of 19, that’s a big ask because how do you sustain it? I’d expect Jack to see it away 10-5, something like that.

Morning all!

And what a day we’ve in prospect here. First, we’ll bring you the conclusion of Jack Lisowski (12) 6-3 Noppon Saengkham, with updates from what could be a cracker: Kyren Wilson (7) v Ryan Day. Then, in the afternoon, Judd Trump tries to avoid the ignominy of first-round ejection – except Anthony McGill, who leads him 6-3, is playing beautifully – while Mark Selby gets going against Matt Selt. And finally, we’ve the conclusion of Wilson v Day, backed up by the final first-round match, Shaun Murphy (4) v Si Jiahui. Not bad, eh?

Jack gunning for victory

Jack Lisowski will resume with a 6-3 overnight lead against Noppon Saengkham in the first round of the World Championship at the Crucible.

He took a 2-1 lead in a rapid opening, but Saengkham kept up with a reply to Lisowski’s following two frames.

At 4-3, Saengkham missed a string of good chances which allowed Lisowski to rally to a three-frame overnight lead.

The pair will play out the remainder of their first-round tie at 10:00 BST on Wednesday morning.
