‘You’ll regret it in college’

Sydney Sweeney has opened up about facing body-image issues in the past.

In an interview with Glamour UK, published Thursday, Sweeney, 26, confessed, “Flaunt what you got. Own it. Love them. When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller.”

Her mom intervened and prevented that from happening, she revealed.

“My mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college,’ ” Sweeney said. “And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends. Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people.”

She added, “The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a dumb blonde with big tits.”

Sweeney is best known for her roles in “Euphoria,” “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “The White Lotus.” Up next, she’s set to be in the Marvel superhero film “Madame Web” with Dakota Johnson, and she currently stars in the rom-com “Anyone But You.”

Co-starring “Top Gun: Maverick” actor Glen Powell, 35, the movie premieres Dec. 22 and follows two people who hate one another, but pretend to be a couple while they attend a destination wedding together.

In the same interview, Sweeney also addressed the rumors that she might have had an affair with Powell. “It was really hard on Glen, which made me sad … because [otherwise] it was such a beautiful experience for the both of us. I care for him so much,” she said. “I’ve never really shared that much [about my relationship], so the press loves to create drama in stories.”

About her love life, she told the outlet, “Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me … I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age. What I’ve noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up, and then tear them down.”

She also did not confirm rumors that she’s engaged to her boyfriend, Chicago-based businessman Jonathan Davino, 38. She clarified that he is not “a restaurateur,” as has previously been reported, or “the heir of a pizza company.”

“I have no idea where that came from … He’s a business guy. He’s from Chicago. We’ve been watching [this narrative] for six years now and I’m like, ‘What the hell?’ ” she said.

But, although she declined to confirm if she’s engaged, she talked about where she sees herself in the future.

“I think about having four kids. I dream of teaching them how to ski when they’re little and having them follow me around on adventures, taking them on hikes, teaching them how to build tree houses, just living through their imagination. That’s something I really, really look forward to,” she said.

She did, however, confess to having a “Pinterest board” for her wedding, because “What girl doesn’t? I started making that when I was like 10. I don’t have a color scheme yet. I’m more of an experience planner, so I’m like, ‘What experience do I want to give people? Are we going on a tropical vacation? Are we doing a carnival?’ ”

But she added that she would be “crazy” if she “had a kid or got married before I’m 30.”

“All my friends or cousins are married and having kids. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m behind the train right now. How can I pick it up?’ ” Sweeney said. “So honestly it’s where I am in the world. It’s crazy.”
