A Political Earthquake in Texas

A large majority of Texas House Republicans voted to impeach Paxton on 20 articles alleging corruption, bribery and abuse of office. The move caused a fresh rupture in a state party that has been riven with divisions stemming from the far right’s fealty to Donald Trump. He called the impeachment “election interference” and told Republicans supporting it, “I will fight you.”
