Bruce Willis ‘face lights up’ with granddaughter amid dementia battle

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Rumer Willis has opened up about what her father, Bruce Willis, is like as a grandpa — or like her family likes to call him, “Grand-Daddio.”

“The most perfect example of who my dad is in real life is his character on ‘Moonlighting,’ Rumer, 35, told The Post about the 68-year-old “Die Hard” star.

“So charming, so funny, so silly … kind of mischievous glint in his eye and, [he is] kind and sweet. And so I feel like that’s really the epitome of who my dad is. And that is so true to this day.”

“He’s so incredibly loving and kind. My dad is absolutely the reason I like my taste in music [and for] some of my humor,” she continued. “Both of my parents are so silly.”

Rumer is one of Bruce’s daughters with Demi Moore, 61. The exes were married from 1987 to 2000 and are also parents of Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29.

The “Armageddon” star shares daughters Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, with his second wife, Emma Heming Willis, 45, too. The couple have been married since 2009.

Heming Willis and Moore have a cordial relationship, as they both signed a 2022 family statement that revealed that the prolific actor was retiring after being diagnosed with aphasia.

In February 2023, his loved ones further revealed that his condition had worsened and that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

The family has rallied around him, and reportedly live under one roof to support him.

Rumer is herself a new mom, as she welcomed daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis in April 2023 with her partner, singer Derek Richard Thomas.

“His face lights up when he sees Louetta,” Rumer said of her famous dad. “And I’m just so grateful to have that kind of spark of mischief and fun and and play no matter what age I am.”

As for what little Lou will call him?

“What did we call him? It’s a mix. It was either Papu or Grand-Daddio,” she told the Post. “Which I’m a big fan, because when we were kids we called my dad Daddio.”

Moore, for her part, goes by “Yaya.”

“When she gets stern [or looks] very discerning, she looks just like my dad. I love it, but she’s like my mini doppelganger. It’s trippy,” Rumer added of her 9-month-old. “People see her and they’re like, ‘Oh my God, that is your child.’”

Bruce also played a key role when the “Dancing With the Stars” Season 20 winner named her daughter.

“Her last name is Willis … I kept thinking to myself, I was like, ‘Oh, that’s perfect, because we’re both musicians. And obviously my dad is so musical.’ And so, her name kind of is a mix of Louis Armstrong, Etta James and the Isley Brothers.

“I was like, ‘There’s Lou Reed, Louis Armstrong.’ Because when I was a kid, my dad’s favorite artists are Louis Armstrong and Etta James. So, it’s also part of the reason why I kind of won the ‘last name’ conversation. Because I said, ‘My dad doesn’t have any sons, so we have nobody to carry on the Willis name.’ And I said [to Thomas], ‘You have a brother.’ So I got to carry the torch, I love it.”

As a new mom, the “House Bunny” actress has made it a priority to use sustainable products — and has already put baby clothes aside if her sisters want one day. She also lists Lalo’s the Chair, First Bites Full Kit and the Play Tent as essentials.

“I think we’re living in a world where we really want to focus on sustainability and things. I think we throw so much stuff at them that I don’t think they they need that much,” she explained. “I think if you invest in things that can have multi-use and that if you take care of, you can use for a while and it can last a really long time.”

The First Bites Full Kit has especially come in handy. “I didn’t buy her a bunch of sippy cups. I’ve been trying to teach her how to just drink from the open cup. So I bypassed plastic that’s just going to sit in a landfill,” she explained. “I travel with it.”

Lou’s future siblings may even get some use out of the items.

“I’m crazy. I want six or seven children,” Rumer told the Post. “God willing and my body allowing me to do so, then I’m down for as many children as the universe wants to give me.”
