Man taking a bath on the subway shocks train riders

Rub a dub dub — the subway was his tub!

A TikTok prankster from Brooklyn wearing just a towel, shower cap, and Crocs was filmed lathering up on the A train hoping to clean up on clicks.

The brazen bather, Elijah Asante, a content creator, posted the video “Taking a Shower on the Subway Prank” on March 10 to his TikTok account @iamwhyeli, where he has over 8,000 followers.

On March 8, Asante, 24, spent close to four hours traveling on the subway from Brooklyn into Manhattan — wearing a blue towel on his waist and bathing himself using a scrub brush and soapy water from a bucket.

Cops eventually escorted the sudsy straphanger off the train.

“At one point, a little water was spilling on the floor, so they were just basically like, ‘You know, this is a safety hazard,’” Asante said.

“I had multiple encounters with different police officers. One of them I asked to scrub my back, but he declined because he was the captain.”

Asante, of East New York, said riders enjoyed the underground hijinks — which he made sure to keep squeaky clean.

“I had my underwear under the towel, so once they seen that, they knew that it was nothing too vulgar,” he said.

“It was not like I was showing any of my private parts.”

Some passengers, however, assumed the worst.

“He did a pretty good job, I’m not gonna lie, everybody swore he was naked. People on the train were pretty upset. A man with his two kids was like, ‘I don’t really need my kids seeing that,’” said Ackeem Rhooms, who posted a video of Asante to Instagram, which received over 140,000 views.

Another video of Asante standing in the aisle applying soap to his chest was posted on the Instagram page @subwaycreatures — capturing 1.9 million clicks.

“He didn’t ask for money … when he left the train, he said, ‘Follow me on TikTok,’” said Andres Cardozo, who shot the video.

Asante said his most popular subway prank was when he was pretending to receive oral sex while riding the train and his second most buzzed-about clip was when he faked having a bowel movement.
