Prince Harry in ‘painful place’ after writing about Kate Middleton in ‘Spare’: expert

Prince Harry has found himself to be in a “painful place” following his sister-in-law’s cancer diagnosis, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, is reportedly feeling a slight sense of regret for dropping so many revelations about his estranged family in his bombshell 2023 memoir, “Spare.”

“When you do discover that your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written stuff that can’t be retracted, that’s quite a painful place to be in,” royal expert Tessa Dunlop told Us Weekly. “I’m not saying it isn’t.”

Dunlop said that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s past criticism about the royal family has aged badly now that the Princess of Wales, 42, and King Charles III, 75, are battling cancer.

“They deliberately criticize the monarchy [and then offer] themselves as an alternative to monarchy. So then when the monarchy is in trouble, we do kind of make a comparison. Can Harry and Meghan really hold themselves off as the caring example now?” she asked.

“They’re certainly going to have to be careful of their timing with any releases so that it doesn’t look opportunistic.”

Dunlop warned that the Sussexes will now have to think twice before making any kind of revelations about Harry’s relatives.

“When that comes creeping in the door, that just reframes everything,” she added.

Following the release of “Spare” in Jan. 2023, it was said that Middleton was taken aback by the attacks in the book and is not looking to forgive Harry and Meghan after their “public betrayal.”

Royal experts at the time said that Harry “will come to regret” the comments he made about his family.

In the book, Harry left no stone unturned as he dished on Middleton’s fractured relationship with his wife.

Harry offered his side of the infamous dress-fitting fallout between the women of Windsor, which he claimed left Markle “sobbing on the floor.”

“Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!” Harry wrote in the book.

The rogue royal then stunningly revealed personal text messages sent back and forth between Markle and Middleton amid the disagreement over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

Elsewhere in the protocol-shattering book, Harry recalled a time when Middleton reluctantly lent the “Suits” actress her lip gloss — and was “taken aback” by her request to borrow it.

He claimed the Princess of Wales “grimaced” when Meghan squeezed the gloss onto her finger and applied it to her lips.

Harry has also claimed that stereotyping caused a “bit of a barrier” when his wife met the Waleses, before making a series of stunning claims about his brother, the heir to the throne.

He alleged Prince William, 41, got physical and tossed him to the floor in a bitter fight two months before he and Markle left the royal family.
